Every year Crossroads Urban Center organizes a barbecue for our clients, volunteers and supporters that we also invite candidates for elected office to attend and talk about why people in our community need help from our food pantries and thrift stores. This year about 150 people attended the barbecue, along with twelve candidates for the state legislature, four candidates for County Office, three candidates for the School Board and two candidates to represent Utah in Congress. Despite a sudden burst of rain at 7:00 PM, it appeared that everyone who attended had a good time. We are very grateful for everyone who took the time show up.
We especially want to thank our friends at Molina Healthcare for purchasing the food for this fun event and providing a fun team of volunteers to prepare and serve the food.
