Babies are more likely to be homeless than adults:  panel discussion on child homelessness and domestic violence at poverty summit on August 25

8/6/2018

Did you know that the first year of life is the period when a person living in the United States is most likely to become homeless?  Did you know that families with children make up about one third of the homeless population or that for over one half of homeless children in Utah domestic violence was a factor in their becoming homeless?

On Saturday, August 25,  Crossroads will be holding its annual poverty summit at First United Methodist Church from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  There are many reasons to attend the summit.  The purpose of this post is to highlight the panel discussion on Child Homelessness and Domestic Violence that will be taking place at 11:00 AM.  If you are concerned about child homelessness and domestic violence in our community then please come and be part of this conversation.

Panelists:
Kathy Bray, Volunteers of America Utah,
Jennifer Campbell, South Valley Services
Jenn Oxborrow, Utah Domestic Violence Coalition
Rep. Joel Briscoe,  Utah House of Representatives

Moderator:  Anna Thomas, Voice for Utah Children.
