Data from April, 2023 is now available on the Utah Homelessness Data Dashboard. 8,341 people received some kind of help from a homeless service provider in Utah during that month. 3,792 of those people spent a night in a homeless shelter. Here are a few other facts:
- 39.4 percent of the people who spent a night in a homeless shelter last month had never been homeless before.
- 47.8 percent of people who spent at least one night in a homeless shelter last month left the shelter within 30 days.
- 11.3 percent of the 2,267 single adults who spent a night in an emergency shelter last month have been sleeping at that shelter for nine months or longer,
- 35.5 percent of the 710 people in families with children who spent a night in an emergency shelter in Utah last month have been sleeping at that shelter for nine months or longer.
