488 children spent a night in a homeless shelter in Utah during the month of March

Statistics for homeless services providers for the month of March, 2023, are now available on Utah Homelessness Data Dashboard.  It is important to notice how many people who experience homelessness in our state are either children, their parents or aged 55 or older.  

8,702 people received some kind of help from a homeless service provider in Utah during the month of March.

• 33.5 percent of the people who received services were members of a family with children.
• 6 percent of the people who received services were youth aged 18-24.
• 22.5 percent of the people who received a service were  aged 55 or older

3,792 people spent a night in a homeless shelter in Utah during the month of March.

• 488 of those people were children.
• 760 were aged 55 or older.
