The Anti-Hunger Action Committee is a membership organization for food pantry clients and volunteers who work together to change policies that cause hunger and poverty. Over the years AHAC members have worked successfully on many important issues, including: 1) simplifying the process for applying for Food Stamps benefits, 2) preserving funding for Medicaid services, and 3) opposing cuts to bus service to low income neighborhoods.
We meet every third Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at Crossroads Urban Center's food pantry. Our meeting for August will take place on the 19th.
To join the Anti-Hunger Action Committee you must pledge to help circulate our monthly newsletter. The AHAC Newsletter for July 15m 2014 is here. You can sign up to receive a monthly newsletter, and occasional action alerts, from AHAC by entering your email into the box on the right. You can also follow AHAC on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/antihungeraction
AHAC is always looking for people who are willing to write short articles about poverty issues for our monthly newsletter or working with our staff to create Youtube videos about those issues. If you are interested in learning about how you can get involved, contact Molly Wiliams at Crossroads Urban Center, 801-364-7765.
