The Ninth Annual Peoples' Summit on Poverty was a success! We had an excellent turnout of about ninety people at the lovely St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.
We had enlightening discussions on topics as varied as the Medicaid expansion, UTA's proposed change to their fare system and a friendly county mayoral candidate forum. David Nichols, pastor at Mount Tabor Lutheran, gave a wonderful keynote address. We also honored Steve Erickson as the Hell Raiser of the Year!
It was great to see so many different people so dedicated to alleviating poverty. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the work to be done.

We want to thank people who came and participated in some way. We particularly want to thanks Andrea Packer from the Utah Transit Authority, Jenn Hyvonen from Fourth Street Clinic, and Norman Thurston from the Governor's Office, for participating in our workshops. We also wish to thank Mark Crockett and Ben McAdams for participating in the County Mayoral Forum. We especially would like to thank the Cathedral Church of Saint Mark for allowing us to use the Dean's Hall for this event.
